The DeLand Museum of Art, with 6000 square feet of state-of-the-art gallery space, began its course in 1951 as a small grass-roots museum housed a block off South Woodland Blvd. Today, from its home on North Woodland Blvd. at the edge of Stetson University's campus, the Museum's reach extends across Volusia County and beyond, attracting exhibitions of national caliber and visitors from around the world.

Changing exhibitions of painting, photography, sculpture and fine crafts are offered in two gallery spaces allowing visitors to enjoy a choice of shows with different orientations.

The DeLand Museum of Art also offers art classes and lectures which complement the exhibitions. For nearly twenty years, it has presented week long sessions of art for children through its popular Summer Art Camp program.

Funding for this non-profit organization is provided through memberships, corporate and private donations, grants, fund-raising events (many of which are run by the Museum's active Guild), and admission to special exhibitions. Most exhibitions are free to the public.
